EXPERIENCE

A styled tablescape for a micro-wedding in Manzanita, Oregon

My biggest goal is to ensure this is a fun experience that makes you feel at ease. I’ll be capturing your day naturally as it unfolds with some time for prompts for certain parts of the day, like couples portraits.

I’ll guide you with enough direction so that you feel comfortable throughout our time together. We’ll make sure you get the best images possible and you’ll also have complete freedom to be yourselves by interacting with each other, your guests, and your surroundings.

HERE’S HOW WE’LL WORK TOGETHER

  • STEP ONE: INQUIRE

Submit an inquiry on the site and please fill out all of the areas of the contact form so I can get to know you and how to best serve you. I’ll get back to you within 24 hours with availability for your date and to set up a call.

  • STEP TWO: GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER

I’ll set up a quick video introduction call over Google Meet so we can all meet. We’ll go through your wedding or elopement details, your ideas and must-haves for your photography, how I work, my investment guide, and more. This is your time to ask questions and make sure you’re comfortable with me. You spend a good amount of time with your photographer on your wedding day and you want someone who aligns with your personality!

  • STEP THREE: SAY “I-DO”

After we’ve created a custom collection tailored to your needs for you to review, I’ll send a contract that protects both of our interests. You’ll read over it, ask questions, we’ll make sure we’re both on the same page, and you’ll sign the contract and send in your 30% deposit to secure your date. Then I’ll send through a fun welcome gift for weddings and elopements.

  • STEP FOUR: PLANNING

You can send through any information to help us plan our time together (inspiration photos, wedding timeline, shot lists for family portraits - I’ll make sure we have what we need). I’ll send through an invoice for the remainder of the cost four weeks before your wedding or session.

  • STEP FIVE: ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

We’ll take engagement photos if you’ve opted to add those to your wedding or elopement photography collection to help get to know each other and help you feel more comfortable having your photos taken. I’ll work with you to plan all of the details!

  • STEP SIX: THE DAY IS HERE

It’s go time. We’ll execute your vision and have some fun!

  • STEP SEVEN: DELIVERY

You’ll receive a mini preview gallery within a few days of your elopement or wedding. Full galleries are delivered within 6-8 weeks for elopements and weddings. I also send a package in the mail with a keepsake box with your photos on a thumb drive and select prints (digital and film). You’ll also receive information on how to back up your photos to ensure they’re protected and how to print your photographs.

 FAQs

or just things you should know!

  • I live in the metro Portland area and serve Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii to photograph you and your love. I also take on a select few weddings outside of this area per year. Inquire for details!

  • I like to deliver quality vs. quantity but also want you to receive as many great photos of your session or wedding as you can. Part of my role is curating a collection of photographs into a gallery that tells the story of your wedding or session and doesn’t inundate you with dozens of photos that look exactly the same. That said, I will never withhold great photos and often galleries for a full wedding day are 1000+.

For a one hour couples session, you can expect to receive 100+ photos. For a four-hour elopement, this will likely be more in the 300+ range. For a larger, full-day wedding, you will receive around 800+ images.

  • RAW files are large, you have to have Photoshop or Lightroom to edit them, and they are unedited. I do not deliver RAW files as a part of what you receive with your photo session or wedding. Part of what you’re getting with hiring a photographer is their editing capabilities and style, which truly makes the photos what they are!

  • I understand if you need to reschedule your wedding due to unforeseen circumstances. Deposits to secure your original date are non-refundable but we can change your date, as long as I’m available on the new date.

The remainder of the fee will not be charged until four weeks before the final event.

If you have an engagement or couples session and the weather is really bad, we can reschedule - I love capturing moody shots in the *light* drizzle, but understand that most people don’t want to be trying to look their best for photos and get poured rain on.

  • The only thing keeping me from your wedding is an act of God or serious illness, either of which are highly unlikely.

That said, if I’m unable to serve as your photographer, I will make every effort to find a replacement who has a similar style and is available for your date. Per our contract, I will not be legally required to find a comparable replacement, but I will do my absolute best! I have a fantastic network of photographers.

If you are scheduled for an engagement or couples session, I’ll provide as much notice as possible if there is a schedule change (again, highly unlikely) and we can find a new date that works for both of us.

  • Yes! Helping you select the physical way your photos will be displayed in your home and given as gifts is what I’m here to help with after we have your photographs ready to print.

The platform I use to deliver your galleries also allows you to order high-quality professional prints from a top print lab, as well as albums and other physical items. I’m also happy to design a custom photo album to be printed with your favorite images, for a small fee.

  • I shoot for redundancy which basically means that your images are recorded in the RAW format two times on two separate SD and CF Express cards simultaneously. I also shoot with two cameras at weddings and elopements, so if one camera completely fails and both cards corrupt (which is super rare!), there will be images on the other camera’s two cards. This approach also helps me get a variety of shots because I’ll keep different lenses on each camera.

Once home, I back up your photos multiple times (2 hard drives) and keep the SD and CF Express cards in a hard case in a climate-controlled and secure environment until the galleries are delivered to you. I also keep your final images on a hard drive until 1 year after the date of your event in case anything happens.

I keep my gear extremely clean, maintained, and up-to-date to eliminate the chances of failure; however, technology is technology and it’s best to have fail-safes in place so I don’t encounter issues during a shoot with capturing your memories and no images are lost after the shoot before they are safely delivered to you.

I regularly invest in new equipment, from a lightning-fast iMac that has way more power than I could possibly ever need for photography, to the newest technology available on the market for cameras and lenses, to a dehumidifying storage safe.

Any other questions? Reach out and we can chat through them!
